How to Iron-On a Shiok! Embroidery Patch
Give your clothes, bags, hats, or other fabric items a personal touch with the Shiok! iron-on embroidery patch! Follow these simple steps to attach your patch securely.
What You’ll Need
- Your iron-on embroidery patch
- An iron
- A clean, flat surface
- A thin cotton cloth or parchment paper
Step 1: Position the Patch
Place the patch on the fabric with the embroidered side facing up. Make sure it is positioned exactly where you want it.
Step 2: Cover the Patch
Place a thin cotton cloth or parchment paper over the patch. This helps protect the embroidery from direct heat.
Step 3: Heat the Iron
Set your iron to medium-high heat and turn OFF the steam setting.
Step 4: Press the Patch
Press the hot iron firmly over the patch for about 30-40 seconds. Do not move the iron back and forth—press straight down to help the adhesive bond to the fabric.
Step 5: Let It Cool
Carefully remove the cloth and allow the patch and fabric to cool completely. Once cool, gently check the edges.
Step 6: Secure for Extra Durability
For items that will be washed frequently or receive heavy use, we recommend sewing around the edges of the patch for additional security.
Care Tips
- Wait at least 24 hours before washing the item.
- Turn the garment inside out before washing.
- Use a gentle wash cycle and avoid high heat when possible.
- Do not iron directly on the embroidered patch.
Important: Always test the heat on a small, inconspicuous area of the fabric first. Some fabrics, such as waterproof, heat-sensitive, or synthetic materials, may not be suitable for iron-on application.
